PM-KISAN Samman Nidhi Yojana provides Rs. 6,000 per year to eligible farmer families. This guide explains the complete registration process — both online and via CSC.

📋 Pre-Registration Checklist

Before you start, ensure you have:

• Aadhaar Card — Linked to your mobile number for OTP
• Land records — Patta/Khata/Patta Passbook (proof of cultivable land ownership)
• Bank account — Savings account in your name, Aadhaar-seeded
• Mobile number — For OTP verification + SMS alerts
• Passport photo — Scanned (for portal upload)

✅ Eligibility Check

Eligible

• All land-holding farmer families in India
• Small & marginal farmers (≤ 2 hectares)
• SC/ST/OBC farmers with land
• Women farmers with land in their name

Excluded Categories (NOT Eligible)

• Institutional landholders (farms owned by trusts, temples, etc.)
• Present/former Government employees (Group A/B/C — except Group D/MTS)
• Persons who paid Income Tax in last assessment year
• Professionals like Doctors, Engineers, CAs, Lawyers practising
• Pensioners with pension ≥ Rs. 10,000/month
• Former or present MPs/MLAs/Mayors/Zila Parishad Chairmen
• Income tax payer in last assessment year
• Anyone owning professional equipment (e.g., tractor > 25 HP for non-agri use)

📝 Online Registration — Step-by-Step

Step 1 — Visit PM-KISAN Portal

1. Go to pmkisan.gov.in.
2. Click on 'New Farmer Registration' (top-right corner).
3. Choose language (Hindi / English).

Step 2 — Enter Aadhaar Details

1. Enter 12-digit Aadhaar number.
2. Enter captcha code shown on screen.
3. Click 'Get OTP' — OTP sent to Aadhaar-linked mobile.
4. Enter OTP and verify.

Note: If your mobile is not linked to Aadhaar, you cannot do online registration — visit CSC instead.

Step 3 — Fill Personal Details

1. Name (as per Aadhaar — auto-filled, editable only for spelling correction)
2. Gender
3. Category (General/OBC/SC/ST)
4. State, District, Sub-district, Village
5. Address
6. Mobile number (already verified)
7. Email (optional)

Step 4 — Fill Land Details

1. Land type: Owned / Leased (only owned eligible)
2. Land area (in hectares)
3. Survey/Khasra number (from land records)
4. Year of registration in land records
5. Upload scanned copy of land record (Patta/Khata) — PDF/JPEG, max 500 KB

Step 5 — Fill Bank Details

1. Account holder name (must match Aadhaar)
2. Bank account number
3. IFSC code
4. Bank name + branch (auto-filled from IFSC)
5. Upload bank passbook first page (PDF/JPEG, max 500 KB)

Critical: Bank account MUST be Aadhaar-seeded. If not, the installment will be returned by the bank and you'll not receive.

Step 6 — Upload Photo

1. Upload passport photo (JPEG, max 100 KB, 3.5cm x 4.5cm).

Step 7 — Submit Application

1. Review all details carefully.
2. Click 'Submit'.
3. Note your Application Reference Number (ARN) — needed for status check + grievance.
4. Take a printout or screenshot of the confirmation page.

🏛 CSC (Common Service Centre) Registration

For farmers without internet / smartphone / Aadhaar-linked mobile:

1. Visit your nearest CSC (Common Service Centre) — usually in village panchayat office or block HQ.
2. Carry original Aadhaar + land records + bank passbook.
3. CSC operator will do online registration on your behalf.
4. Service fee: Rs. 30-60 (varies by state).
5. You'll receive SMS confirmation on your mobile.

🔍 Track Application Status

1. Go to pmkisan.gov.in/FarmerStatus.aspx.
2. Enter Aadhaar number + captcha.
3. Click 'Get Status'.

Possible Statuses

• Pending at State Verification: State agriculture dept is verifying land records
• Approved: Will receive next installment
• Rejected: Reason shown — typically Aadhaar mismatch / land record issue / exclusion criteria
• Installment Transferred: Money sent to your bank — check passbook

⚠️ Common Reasons for Rejection

1. Aadhaar-Bank mismatch — Aadhaar-seeded bank account is mandatory
2. Land record mismatch — Name spelling difference between Aadhaar and land records
3. Family member already enrolled — One per family rule (Husband+wife+minor children)
4. Fell in exclusion criteria — Govt employee, IT payer, professional, etc.
5. Bank account closed / inactive — Money returned by bank
6. State verification pending — State agriculture dept hasn't verified records yet
7. Wrong land area entered — Doesn't match state land records

🔄 Update Aadhaar / Bank Details

If you need to update your Aadhaar number or bank account:

1. Login to pmkisan.gov.in/EditAadhaarDetail.aspx.
2. Enter old Aadhaar + registered mobile.
3. Get OTP, verify.
4. Enter new Aadhaar or bank details.
5. Submit. Status will show 'Pending re-verification'.
6. State agriculture dept re-verifies in 30-60 days.
