The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) is a group of premier public medical institutions established by the Government of India to provide advanced healthcare, medical education, and research. AIIMS institutions are recognised as Institutes of National Importance and are among the most prestigious medical organisations in the country. As of 2026, 18 AIIMS are fully functional across India, while additional institutes are under development.
