  • CSAB Special Rounds: 20-25 July 2025

📝 Step 1 — Registration

  1. Visit josaa.nic.in after JEE Advanced result.
  2. Click on 'Candidate Registration'.
  3. Enter JEE Main 2025 Application Number and Password.
  4. Fill basic details, choose a password, and submit.
  5. Pay the registration fee: Rs. 35,000 (GEN/EWS/OBC) or Rs. 15,000 (SC/ST/PwD).

🎯 Step 2 — Choice Filling & Locking

  1. Login and click 'Available Choices for Filling'.
  2. Select college-program combinations in order of preference (you can choose up to 200 choices).
  3. Arrange by priority — top choice first.
  4. Click 'Save' to keep choices editable, or 'Lock' to submit (irreversible until next round).
  5. Take a printout of locked choices.

Tip: Fill as many choices as possible. Include some 'safe' options below your expected rank.

✅ Step 3 — Seat Allotment

JoSAA conducts 6 rounds of seat allotment. Each round:

  1. Seat allotted based on rank, category, and choice order.
  2. Download allotment letter.
  3. Choose one of three responses:
  • Freeze: Accept the allotted seat, no further upgradation.
  • Float: Accept but want higher preference in subsequent rounds.
  • Slide: Accept but want a higher academic program in the SAME institute.

📋 Step 4 — Online Reporting & Document Verification

Once allotted a seat you must:

  1. Pay the Seat Acceptance Fee (if not already paid during registration).
  2. Upload scanned documents (Class 10, 12, JEE scorecard, category certificate, photo, signature, photo ID).
  3. Respond to queries raised by the verification officer (if any) within the deadline.
  4. Download the 'Provisional Admission Letter'.

🏛 Step 5 — Reporting at Allotted Institute

After final round seat allotment, report physically to the allotted institute with:

  • Original + photocopies of all certificates.
  • Provisional admission letter.
  • Seat acceptance fee receipt.
  • Medical certificate (in prescribed format).
  • Anti-ragging affidavit.

🔄 Step 6 — CSAB Special Rounds (Optional)

If seats remain vacant after JoSAA Round 6, CSAB (Central Seat Allocation Board) conducts 2 special rounds for NIT/IIIT/GFTI seats only. Separate registration required.

⚠️ Important Points

  • Mock allotment rounds are conducted before Round 1 — participate to understand your chances.
  • Choice filling order matters — choices are processed in the order you list them.
  • Once a seat is 'Frozen', you cannot participate in further rounds.
  • Failure to report physically by deadline = seat cancellation + fee forfeiture.
  • Withdraw option is available till a specific date — fee refunded after small deduction.
